About
Dave is a lifelong learner who likes nothing more than to help others learn. He is a patient teacher dedicated to the pursuit of happiness through knowledge. He knows a lot about a number of things but is happy to learn more and eager to share what he's learned with others who want to learn. Like the philosopher of old, however, he is certain that he does not know everything; rather, he burns with a desire to learn more, all of the time.
Dave has two Bachelors - one in History, one in Journalism - as well as Post-graduate work in History and English from the University of Kansas. He is the author of multiple books on History and the creator of a website called Social Studies for Kids.
Over a period of nearly 30 years, he has worked as an education content writer, editor, and manager for organizations in the US and abroad, including McGraw-Hill, Great Minds, and the New Zealand Qualifications Authority. He has also taught lecture series on a variety of topics in History at Victoria University in New Zealand over a period of four years.
Dave seeks to establish a spirit of collaboration, in which students take ownership of their learning.
