My name is Joe and I am an aspiring medical student who has been tutoring math and chemistry full-time for the past 18 months. I recieved my bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Rutgers University- New Brunswick and my Master's in Biomedical Science from Rutgers Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. I have had experience working with students struggling with learning disabilities, potential valedictorians, college students struggling with prerequisite courses, and stay at home moms who have decided to return to school only to realize they don't remember any math or chemistry. In my spare time I like to spend time with my dog and family, play hockey, lift weights, and build custom computers.
This is totally dependent on the student. Everyone is different and need help in different way. Sometimes it is necessary to revisit concepts and definitions, others need to understand why what they are doing is incorrect, others need to be walked through a problem step by step, and some students need to practice on their own and have their mistakes corrected when they arise. It's part of my job to evaluate how I can benefit a student the most.
