French Horn with Mathew James
The outcome of the class will be a more informed knowledge of the horn, its construction, how it works, and how we learn it.
This will scaffold with the band method approach, supplemented with material designed for the horn.
ABOUT MATHEW JAMES
Currently offering 60% off lessons due to the current situation around self-isolation that is impacting education Based out of Calgary, Mathew James is a hornist known for radical performance and an advocate for new music. His training began at the University of Calgary. Following that he moved to Chicago, IL. where Mathew completed both a Masters degree and a Post-graduate Degrees under the tutelege of Jim Smelser of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. After his studies Mathew won the acting fourth horn position with the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra for the 2015-2016 season. Now Mathew is an active freelancer in Calgary. He is also the Solo horn and Artistic Director for Calgary's Timepoint Ensemble.
