Keynote Lecture: Intentional Empathy

About Keynote Lecture: Intentional Empathy

Empathy is our ability to put ourselves in the shoes of others and to understand what another person is experiencing. Remarks will focus on the role intentional empathy plays in fostering an environment that is inclusive for all.

Today’s environment is the most diverse in history, whether it is in terms of different geographies, ethnicity, religion, culture, gender, sexual orientation or even perspectives. The creative fiber community is no exception. More than ever before crafters have the expectation that fiber events, industry publications, local yarn shops and guilds will create an environment where individuals feel a sense of support and belonging.
