Let’s Make Waves: How to Vibrato with your Flute
About Let’s Make Waves: How to Vibrato with your Flute
Vibrato in your music is the "icing on top" for making you sound even more beautiful when you play your flute. But, how do you make that wavy sound? In this class, you will be taught step-by-step exercises in order to develop a beautiful, controlled, vibrato in your music.
We begin by practicing a series of even triplet pulses with the metronome set to 60. You will then be shown how to increase your metronome speed, with clear, consistent "pulses". Eventually, we will try 4 vibrato pulses per beat, and learn how to play them EVENLY and CONTROLLED.
We will then discuss where to play our vibrato in music, with a "less is more" attitude. At the end of the class, we will try to play a vibrato in select pieces of music. Let your music sparkle and shine with your new vibrato skills!
At the end of the class, there will be a raffle drawing for all those attend the class. The winner will receive a FREE thumb rest!
This class is limited to 40 students.

Book 1:1 online lessons with Kate Hicks on their Lessonface profile.
Hi! I teach music with patience, smiles and encouragement because music should be fun to play, and not a chore. Please look at my YouTube channel called: " Mrs. Hicks and your fun flute and recorder lessons", and you can see me in action. If you would like to set up a lesson with me, or just to meet with me for a FREE "Meet & Greet" 15 minute trial lesson, it is best to message me first, so that we can find times that work for both of us---time zones and all; I can also arrange lessons outside of my availability chart, if necessary. I am also available on weekends, from time to time.
