Piano for Kids

About Piano for Kids
Does you child love music? As a parent, do you want activities that will stimulate positive growth for your child? Piano lessons develop a person's focus and coordination, as well as increasing their perseverance. Playing piano also increases certain functions in the brain, and it's thought that this may allow the musicians to solve problems more effectively in various areas of their lives.
Plus, it's great fun to be able to play your favorite song! There's something about being able to play a song you’ve already heard that's very satisfying. Kids love that and it keeps them motivated.
I've created lots of materials for beginning students, and I will provide the materials for this class.
This class will give a nice introduction to the wonderful world of the piano. Come join the fun!

Grateful for an amazing first experience!! Super impressed with Mrs. Cashin's ability to effortlessly navigate teaching young piano learners of all levels— VIRTUALLY. Our 8 year old joined with no experience, and was welcomed with open arms and gentle, expert guidance. We can see her progressing nicely here. Thank you and looking forward to future lessons!

Beverly did a great job! She sent a link to pdfs ahead of time that we use in the class. She taught us how to play songs by talking and demonstrating it. We were able to see her keyboard, which helped immensely. We had breakout sessions for she helped us individually as well. Great class!

Class: Introduction to Rhythm and Counting
I love this class. I'm pretty good at imitating rhythms when I hear them but I need to learn how to work out a rhythm from a score when I haven't heard the piece played out loud and this class exposes me to lots of rhythms.

I love Beverly's compositions that she uses for the classes. I seem to learn better by learning songs rather than exercises so I feel like I'm picking up new concepts quickly.

Beverly is excellent at chose pieces that cater to the skill levels of the class. There's always at least one that I'm pretty sure I can get the hang of.

Class: Introduction to Rhythm and Counting
I'm pretty good at imitating rhythms if I hear them out loud but I'm not as good at figuring out complex rhythms on paper scores alone so this class is important to me for that reason.

I really loved one of the pieces in today's class. It was a very magical sounding song. Also learned that I'm sitting too close to the piano so I'm trying not to do that in future.

Brilliant as always, I like the fact Beverly pitches her classes at two levels so if something looks too daunting then there's something else to work with.

Hello! I've been playing and teaching for several decades, and I can show you how to have fun with the piano. If you're a beginner, I can take you right from step one and have you playing familiar songs by the 1st or 2nd lesson. If you already have some experience, I can add to it.
I've been playing and studying piano since age 7 (long time). I began with traditional classical studies, and later added jazz and rock, and chord theory. I earned my degree from Berklee College of Music in Boston in the late 1980's, and began teaching in the early 90's. I perform professionally and compose music for students and others.
