About the Ali Ryerson Jazz Flute Seminar - Spring 2024 with Ali Ryerson
The Ali Ryerson Jazz Flute Seminar, an online program of intensive jazz flute study, offers a unique opportunity for aspiring and experienced jazz flutists to develop their technical skills and musical reflexes necessary for jazz improvisation.
Level
Advanced beginners to advanced students ages 14 and up.
When
The class will meet for four 60-min live online sessions on Tuesdays at 7 pm ET | 4 pm PT on the schedule below. The first session is on April 2.
Enrolled students receive lifetime access to the video recordings of the classes.

How It Works

Very helpful...I'm likely less experienced than the other class participants, but was able to catch some broad strokes and some specific helpful tips. I liked it most when Ali played, then went back and explained/showed what she was doing specifically...in a way that I could know how to imitate and practice...excellent experience and value

Fantastic! I learned so much about jazz improvisation! I particularly loved working from Ali’s solos and trying to write my own and getting such valuable feedback to improve my skills. I also really enjoyed working on soloing in different keys, and learning more on on some of the jazz standards. The learning atmosphere was just great as Ali was taking the time to bring each one of us one step higher as Jazz flutists. Thank you Ali!

Excellent. Ali was very well prepared and introduced songs based on the chord patterns of "I've Got Rhythm," as well as jazz techniques to support playing "Rhythm Changes." I look forward to reviewing the video; there was so much valuable information! Always kind, Ali critiqued my solo performance and that of another student, acknowledging growth in both of our performances. She is always specific; she gave great critiques and sugggestions on how to improve. Wonderful class!! Can't wait for the next one!!
