Playing in Higher Positions for the Violin: Starts Jan. 16
This course is an introduction to playing in higher positions that is great for all levels of playing, whether you are a beginner or an advanced player. We will cover many techniques, ear training skills, and relaxation exercises that will not only help you understand higher positions, but help you play better in first position as well. Even if you are just beginning, it’s never too early to start learning the skills you will need to play in higher positions!
ABOUT LORA GALLMAN
2018 Violin Teacher of the Year!
Lora has been teaching violin to students for over fifteen years. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance summa cum laude from the University of Alabama where she performed in orchestras, chamber groups, and taught violin. After graduating she attended the University of South Carolina for her Master’s where she specialized in group instruction and private lessons, teaching all of the stringed instruments to students ranging from 6 to 75.
She has performed with several orchestras including the Huxford Symphony Orchestra, the USC Symphony Orchestra, Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra, Meridian Symphony Orchestra, and the Shoals Symphony Orchestra and attended music festivals across the country including the Castleman Quartet Program, Madeline Island Music Festival, Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, and Kinhaven Music Festival.

WHEN
This class will meet for four live sessions on Thursdays, January 16, 23, 30 & Feb 6, from 5-6 pm EST / 2-3 pm PST.
HOW IT WORKS
Students can connect to the online platform using a tablet or computer with reliable internet. To actively participate online students also need a webcam with microphone. The live sessions are recorded so that all enrolled students can review the class sessions following the live class. Class recordings will be available for viewing within 48 hours of the live class. This live online class is capped at 8 students.
