About Jazz Piano: A Crash Course for Beginners in Jazz
Ever wanted to play jazz but not feeling confident? We will talk about some basics - voicings, rhythm, elements of jazz, and more! The goal is to understand the structure of the classic twelve-bar blues by the end.

13 and up
Skill Level
Intermediate (prerequisite music reading skills, and an understanding of scales and chords)

How It Works

Joe Miterko
From Trumbull, CT, Joe Miterko is an active jazz pianist, composer, arranger, and music educator. He began playing piano at the age of four. Growing up, he actively participated in the Litchfield Jazz Camp and the Fairfield University Summer Jazz Camp as a student and counselor. He also graduated from the Regional Center for the Arts Performing Arts High School of Fairfield County.
