Angela comes from a musical background where she began to take piano lessons with her father at the age of six. A few years later she began to take lessons in both violin and flute. She played in Cork City Music College Orchestra, where she performed at the Aula Maxima, the Helix and the National Concert Hall, Ireland. She completed her Royal Irish Academy of Music grade examinations in piano and violin, and Grade VI on the flute and organ before entering the CIT- Cork School of Music.
Angela graduated with an Bachelor of Music(Hons) in 2017. During her degree, she studied piano under the pianist Michael Joyce. In addition, she studied the organ, music theory, and pedagogies. To add to her experience, Angela took the Practical Solutions for Dyslexia and Music Learning course in London. In 2019, she completed a diploma in Special Needs Assisting.
With more then ten year experience, Angela has taught both instrumental lessons and musicianship classes. Angela established an after school music programme at St Josephs primary school, Cork 2018. Prior to that she taught at Cork Independent Music Scheme for many years.
Each lesson is tailored to the student needs and interests, whether preparing for grade exams or for the joy of music making. Music is taught through a combination of musical notation, playing by ear, and using the kodaly method. Angela is interested in learning new styles and is always open to learning new genres and ways of playing.
