About

Bassist Brian J Wright is a native Southern California based musician. He is well versed in many genres of music such as latin, jazz and pop.  Proficient on upright bass, electric upright bass and electric bass he has been working as a bassist since 1998. He is well known for his impeccable rhythmic sense and intonation. He has performed and/or recorded with a variety of artists including; Llew Matthews, Ron Kobayashi, renowned jazz composer and educator Joey Sellers, Ron Stout (Grammy awardee), Benn Clatworthy, Steve Cotter, Francisco Aguabella, Poncho Sanchez, Mongorama, Calixto Oviedo, Yalil Guerera, Danilo Lozano, Mark Massey, Justo Almario, Ramon Banda and many others. Venues he's played at include Dorothy Chandler Pavilion; the Nokia Theatre; the Shrine Auditorium; The Hollywood Bowl; Los Angeles County Museum of Art; Museum of Latin American Art (Long Beach); Television productions of Criminal Minds Beyond Borders (2016) and Jane The Virgin (2016). His education consists of a B.A. in Music Performance on Upright Bass, Whittier, CA (Graduated 2001) and a Masters in Music in Jazz Performance on Upright Bass (Current). He owns and works with his Fender 5 String Precision Bass, an Azola Lightning Bug Bass and a Shen SB200 Acoustic Bass. Brian uses Logic Pro X and Final Cut for audio and video editing.
