Elias Sarigiannidis
About
Elias is an educator, composer, multi-instrumentalist, performer and experienced music tutor.
He studied Music Theory, Harmony and guitar at a young age. He received a Master from the department of Music Science and Art of the University of Macedonia (Greece), specialized in the Art of Composition based on Traditional Music and Eastern Mediterranean Music Systems. At the same time he studied traditional and folk instruments.
As a music performer he has participated in many groups that focus on Greek traditional music, Rebetiko and Eastern Mediterranean Music.
He has created Iliodromio, a musical ensemble in which he composes and orchestrates contemporary music based on traditional music sound colors. As a producer he has recorded and released two albums, Poetics (2016), Indigo (2020).
Teaching Style
He has been teaching music professionally since 2014, specializing in lute, oud, acoustic guitar, ukulele, mandolin, music theory and improvisation.
He currently works as a music teacher at elementary and secondary public schools in Greece and he also has three years of experience as a professor in the University of Macedonia, (Greece) teaching the elements of Rhythm and Harmony in music.
He has been working with students from 5 years old to 70 years old and always works on finding a personalized approach to every student depending on their age, level and aims.
Ιn 2018 he created the "Castle Musical Workshop" in order to inspire school-age children (ages 5-18) to expand their music world by creating their own musical ensembles and choirs under his guidance and teaching.
The workshop has participated in cultural events and has organized music performances in collaboration with music schools in different parts of Greece.
