I have eight years of teaching experience, as a private instructor and for different music programs in the NYC area. I enjoy very much teaching and helping my students reach their goals and share their passion for music. I’m specially interested in teaching kids since I believe the arts, and music specifically, have a crucial role in early education.
My approach as a music instructor is rooted in nurturing and developing creativity. I try to instill a sense of enjoyment and curiosity about music in my students. Music education is usually based on strict discipline and focused on technical improvement. I believe that while it’s important to give a solid foundation in terms of theory and technique to my students, it’s equally important to give them space to experiment and incorporate their musical tastes and previous experiences. This way they can develop a strong motivation to keep learning and overcome frustration and difficulties at every stage of the learning process.
