About

Jason Cairati is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer, playing and writing music in varying styles from jazz, pop, rock, classical, and EDM. A graduate of Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, WA. Jason had the privilege to work and perform with the world-renowned alto saxophonist Rudresh Mahanthappa, playing a range of indo-jazz and free jazz compositions. A strong background in teaching at music schools teaching  all ages in all different styles. He has done a range of work for video games, theater shows, and short films to his credit.

I would describe my teaching style as 'flexible.' I don't believe that there's a one-size-fits-all teaching method; everyone learns differently and it's my job to determine the best way to teach each of my students. I focus on finding music that my students will like, and picking topics and approaches that they'll find naturally interesting. When we're learning a new concept or theory, I incorporate songs that use those new ideas so that my students can learn to apply them in a real situation.

Curriculum-wise, I use a wide variety of different books and handouts, plus some original material. I customize it for each student, based on their interests and skill level.
