French flutist and pianist Matthieu Clavé is an active performer and music teacher. He is a permanent member of Atlanta-based ensemble Chamber Cartel, whose mission is to "challenge the notion that classical music is boring, obtuse, and inaccessible," and "to propagate New and Experimental music any- and everywhere."
Matthieu Clavé served as principal flute with the University Symphony Orchestra at Florida State University in 2010 and 2012, and was principal flute with the American Wind Symphony during the 55th anniversary tour, where he was a featured soloist, in 2012. He has taught flute at the Landes Music Conservatory in Mont de Marsan, France, Noisy-Le-Grand Music Conservatory near Paris, the Cultural Center of Rueil Malmaison near Paris, and Florida State University, in Tallahassee.
He holds a Master’s in Music Performance from Florida State University (Tallahassee, FL), a Master’s in Music Performance and Education from the École Normale de Musique de Paris (France), and an Artist Diploma from the Music Conservatory of Ville d’Avray, France.
