Israeli drummer, composer and arranger – Nathan Blankett, graduated summa cum laude in Contemporary Writing and Production, from Berklee College of Music.

Now living in Brooklyn, NY, Nathan is a sought-after drummer and producer, working internationally with artists such as Mob Job, Yonit Spiegelman, Foreign Hues, Yeonathan Shachar, Nick Horner, Ehud Ettun and others.

Born in Jerusalem, Nathan Blankett started playing drums at the age of 13.  Being fascinated by many different music genres, he has developed, over the years, a warm and organic sound that combines different elements from folkloric world music, jazz, avant-garde as well as contemporary electronic-oriented productions.

In 2010, he performed at the Roma Jazz Festival and was fortunate to share the stage with some of the top musicians in today’s jazz scene such as, Jeff Ballard, Larry Grenadier, Mark Turner, Roberto Gatto and more…

In 2011, Nathan was granted a scholarship to attend the prestigious Berklee College of Music where he was privileged to study with great drummers such as Ian Froman, Yoron Israel, Ralph Peterson, as well as leading writers and producers such as Joe Carrier, Bill Elliott, and Dr. Andrea Pejrolo, to name a few.

In 2012, Nathan was chosen to perform at the First Night Festival in Boston, MA as part of the Israeli Jazz Collective. The concert also featured one of his arrangements.

Nathan has been teaching and giving clinics worldwide and enjoys sharing his knowledge and experience with anyone from beginners to advanced in various percussion instruments as well as mixing, mastering, DAW, and other production related subjects.

My teaching style is not fixed, as I think each person has his own way of understanding and relating to things. I would like to get to know you and what you like in music, and together break it down to concepts we can learn and apply in your music making. I am a strong believer in having good technique and understanding of the instrument (any instrument, even computers!) to help translate our musical ideas quickly and effectively. I've been lucky to be making music for over a decade now, whether as a player, engineer, composer, arranger, mixer, or producer, and I would love to share the experience I have accumulated in helping you make the music you like!

I like to incorporate the study of the 26 American Drum rudiments and snare pieces together with grooves from across the globe and your favorite recordings.
