Hello! I’m Emile Kanaan, a professional Oud player, educator, and conservatory graduate with over 12 years of experience performing and teaching Arabic music. I hold a Baccalaureate in Oud from the Lebanese National Higher Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor’s in Music and Musicology from Antonine University.

Early fascination with fabric and fashion came from my seamstress mother. You might say fiber art is bound into my DNA. My felting journey began with a study of skin. Skin as a protective covering, and as identifier, and how it can record history. A study of animal skin, and human skin; leading to hybrids. All the while, intrigued with the way wearable art transforms its wearer.

Being involved in music for over 30 years, I am an accomplished classical and contemporary pianist, accompanist, musical director and teacher, having studied at Elder Conservatorium of Music for a B. Mus (Performance) and at the Trinity College of Music in London. In 2009, I completed a Master of Arts in Music and Creative Industries at QUT.

Most recent studies- Master at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin Carla shared the stage with renowned artists such as Nils Mönkemeyer, Julia Fischer, Lena Neudauer, Yuval Gotlibovich, Erica Wise and Sara Bitlloch. I’m a professional guitarist and educator, Fulbright scholar, solo and chamber musician. I hold a Master’s degree from the San Francisco Conservatory. Music has been my passion and main occupation for over 20 years and I greatly enjoy sharing it with others.

My name is ANGELA RANSLEY and I live in London where I teach the piano face to face and also online. I have an Honours Degree in Music and a Fellowship in Piano Teaching with Distinction. I founded my own studio - The Harmony School of Pianoforte - in 1994.
