I  enjoy working with each student to find what motivates them, what their goals are and how I can help them reach the next level. I believe correct violin technique is important and I also believe music should be joyous and inspiring,  I have taught a variety of ages and experience levels and tailor each lesson to the individual student.

As I am both a classical performer and a Celtic fiddle player, I am happy to offer different styles of music in addition to the standard repertoire.

Master of Music, The New School Mannes College of Music Bachelor of Music, The New School, Mannes College of Music Carnegie Hall Music Educator's yearlong training - 3 years. Bachelor of Science in Video Arts Technology Borough of Manhattan Community College

My violin teaching is a combination of the methods I studied (Galamian, Paul Rolland, Suzuki, etc. ) and the needs of the individual student. I encourage students to include skill practice such as beautiful tone, pitch,  faster fingers etc. in their practice, and we go over short warmup routines that cover these skills.  We also look at the pieces the student is playing and I breakdown technical passages as needed to make them more comfortable.  I use a variety of books depending on the level and interest of the student and I am happy to also work on any pieces you may be playing or wish to play. I am an expert at teaching students how to practice - ways to make it efficient and fun.

For students that would like to learn basic improvisation, this is an option and we  sometimes use backing tracks to experience the joy of music making in this way. After the lesson, I provide a written home practice routine suggestion of what we covered during the lesson and if necessary a short video segment.
