About

Hi! My name is Kailbeth Chacin and I have been playing the violin since I was five years old. I started in Venezuela at the Emil Friedman School and was also part of the social movement El Sistema, where I got to play with conductor Gustavo Dudamel, among other great music figures of our time.

In 2014, I came to the USA to pursue graduate studies and I have had a great time teaching and performing in the greater Washington D.C. area. I graduated with my Doctor of Musical Arts degree in 2021 from Shenandoah Conservatory and I am excited to continue teaching, performing and adding to my research topic of Latin American violin music.

I am very excited to keep teaching and performing in the years to come.

También se habla español! :)

I hope I can meet you soon!

I encourage my students to discover their artistry through the music they like. Learning an instrument is about developing many areas of our brain and making the most out of it. Whether you are a young musician starting to play, an adult fullfilling a dream or an advanced player wanting to prep for your next big performance/audition, I can assure you I have the tools to pass on to you so you can succeed.

I usually employ a specific group of methods depending on the level of the student. For example:

For young beginners: Strictly Strings, book 1; Suzuki Method, book 1.

For intermediate: Hrimally Scales; Sitt book 1 or Wholfhart book 1; and  a Baroque concerto.

For Advanced: Carl Flesch (or Galamian) Scale System; Kreutzer, 42 Etudes, a Classical or Romantic concerto

The sky is the limit! If in between these you want to have fun with some popular repertoire, we can definitely do it! :)
