Elena is currently playing drums for Broadway’s newest hit musical, SIX. She toured the US as the drummer for the 1st National Tour of Waitress (Sara Bareilles), and is a graduate of Berklee College of Music. A versatile musician and educator, Elena is excited to work with students of all ages and ability.
Actively involved in both the pop/rock and musical theater scenes, Elena strives to create fluidity across all musical genres.
Elena has shared the stage with Tony-award winning actress Patina Miller (Pippin, Sister Act), Nikki Renee Daniels (Book of Mormon), Annie Golden (Orange is the New Black), Constantine Maroulis (Rock of Ages), and jazz vocalist Jaqui Naylor. In addition to her US appearances, Elena has performed in the Caribbean, South America, Australia, New Zealand and Europe while working as a bandleader for Holland America Cruise Lines.
She originated the drum book for two Off-Broadway shows including A Strange Loop and The Hello Girls and appeared on both Original Cast Recordings. An active sub in the NYC Theater scene, her credits include: Be More Chill,Waitress, Cagney, and A Taste of Things to Come.
Elena has been teaching privately for over six years and welcomes students all ages and abilities. Her lessons focus on developing the student's chart reading abilities, musical versatility, and adaptability while prepping them for a career as a professional musician. For first time learners, Elena will introduce a world of possibilities on the drums and show anyone that they can rock out on the instrument they've always dreamed about playing.
