About

As for my background: I hold a master's in film scoring from the Eastman School of Music a double degree in piano and composition from Nazareth University, and experience at some of the most prestigious film scoring studios in Los Angeles. My music has been performed across Spain, the United States, and Asia, with orchestral premieres by the Royal Galician Philharmonic, and I'm a first-prize winner of the 2020 Sinta Quartet National Competition and the Rochester Chamber Music Society Composition Prize. My latest piece for saxophone and orchestra reached 20,000 streams and sold over 100 copies of the score!

Whether you're struggling with music theory in school, looking to write your first film score, or want to go deep on composition and production — I can help you get there.

I teach everything from the ground up: music theory, counterpoint, voice leading, and orchestration for both the stage and digital production. On the production side, I cover MIDI orchestration, film scoring, mixing and mastering (DSP), and work across Logic Pro X, Cubase, and Reaper. I'll teach in whichever environment fits you best.

I've helped over 50 students go from failing to an A in music theory, and have supported students in programs at Berklee, Eastman, and Stanford. With 2,000+ hours of private tutoring and university-level teaching at the University of Rochester and Nazareth University, I know how to adapt to where you are and move you forward quickly.

Teaching Style

.My approach depends entirely on what you're here for.

If you're working through school coursework, I focus on exactly what you need to pass and excel — clear explanations from the ground up, targeted exercises during class, and practice to reinforce concepts between sessions.

If you're here to compose, I flip the usual approach: we start by writing, and your craft develops from what your music actually needs. No abstract theory for its own sake — everything connects to something you're creating.

Lessons run over Zoom, where I can live-stream my DAW or connect directly to yours through a remote-access system that makes working together feel like we're in the same room.

Curriculum

I don't use standardized texts. Every student gets materials I design specifically for them, built around how they learn and what they're working toward. The curriculum develops with you, not ahead of you.
