About

I am a professional songwriter, composer, producer, singer, keyboardist, and saxophonist with over 10 years of teaching experience and over 15 years of performing experience.

I have toured internationally and performed on stages in Europe, Turkey, South America, and the Dominican Republic. I have played in bands led by such notable musicians as seven-time Grammy nominee Michael Spiro, and lead trombonist of the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra, Brent Wallarab. I have attended clinics and masterclasses by a wide range of incredible musicians, including Shawn Pelton, Bob Sheppard, Eric Alexander, David Liebman, Stefon Harris, Jerry Coker, David Baker, Rufus Reid, and Antonio Hart.

After earning my Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in 2012, I relocated to Austin, TX, the "Live Music Capital of the World," where I have been performing with and developing my own group, Mamahawk, in addition to teaching music full time.

Teaching Style

I like to keep things simple and concise.

1) I'll assess what level you're at and get a sense of your strengths and weaknesses.

2) We'll plan out specific goals and how we're going to get you there.

3) If you have a particular song you want to learn, let's incorporate that!

***Ask me anything, anytime. I'll answer to the best of my knowledge.***
