About

Hello! My name is Ágnes and I am a flutist. I graduated from Juilliard this year and start my DMA in flute performance in the fall! I happily teach students online. I am experienced in teaching students of all ages (young beginner to adult) and levels (beginner to advanced). I am fluent in English and I am native Hungarian.  During lessons, we will also develop the necessary Music Theory and Ear Training skills for playing music. My schedule is very flexible! I have a strong background in orchestral playing and I had over 20 solo recitals too.

For me, the role of the teacher is nurturing the student’s own musical ambitions and helping them to find their inner need. Of course, the student has to face with the expectations of the profession and has to be encouraged to make the basics of these expectations (what is not a bad habit or fashion) part of their own internal need, as it is almost impossible to play music freely if we want to fit to the expectations of others.

The relationship with the flute should built up "brick by brick", carefully and responsibly. We should always check that “the mortar is already bound” before we put the next line, following every step of the disciple on the path designated for us.  I try to make a direct connection between technique and musicality in my teaching and create a certain complexity in my method. I never put extra emphasis on performing art, sound or technique but try to focus on all of them at the same time. I frequently use contemporary techniques as exercises for tone development.

The musicians creates: creates a sounding world, where they partly arranges in the model of the experienced world, partly connect with some regularities, which affect them as well but they also have the freedom to dissolve it. This activity is basically the practice of the creation itself where the artist becomes acquainted with the larger creation than they are, becomes the part of it, what we call World.
