Akos Forgacs is a New York City-based electric bassist. Raised in Serbia and attended the local performing arts high as the very first electric bassist they accepted. Here he was awarded many awards included an award at the national string chamber orchestra competition. Akos moved to the United States to attend the prestigious Berklee College of Music. At Berklee, Akos had the opportunity to work closely with many incredible artists. After finishing his studies at Berklee College of Music, Akos moved to New York City where he maintains a busy schedule as a bandleader and sideman.

Hi there, and thanks for stopping by.

I'm an electric bass player and musician with a history of touring worldwide, playing rock, funk, and jazz. I graduated from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor of Music. I am currently teaching and playing music professionally. I have had the opportunity to play on countless records and with many Grammy award-winning artists. My students range in ability from beginner to professional. Currently, I play in several bands in NYC and record and tour around the US and Europe.

Currently, I am only offering online lessons. I work with bass players and guitarists with a wide range of abilities, some are beginners, and I have some who are professionals. I can help you prepare to nail an audition or if you want to get into music and have fun. I tend to focus on making sure my student's learning experience is stress-free and fun (most importantly)

Some of the musical styles I regularly teach are Rock, Blues, Jazz, Funk, Soul, R&B, and Classical.

I tend to focus on learning songs instead of "boring" exercises. Although there are a couple of exercises I like to use, I make sure I put them in a playing context rather than playing it by itself.

You get more benefits from learning songs and working on a problematic groove or phrase rather than spending a lot of time playing nonmusical exercises.

Hope to hear from you and start learning some good music!
