Teaching Style

My teaching style is structured, patient, and student-friendly. I focus on building strong fundamentals in shruti (pitch), laya (rhythm), and voice control.

For beginners, I start with basic exercises, swaras, and simple lessons to build confidence. For intermediate students, I introduce varnams, raga development, and tala understanding step by step.

I break down complex concepts into simple, easy-to-understand methods, especially for international students who may be new to Carnatic music.

I also provide practice techniques, repetition methods, and guidance to improve consistency and performance skills.

Each class is interactive, and I adapt my teaching based on the student's pace and goals.

Curriculum

My teaching method is based on the traditional Carnatic music learning system combined with a structured and modern approach suitable for online students.

I follow a step-by-step progression:
• Beginners: Sarali varisai, Janta varisai, Alankaram, basic swaras
• Intermediate: Geethams, Swarajathis, Varnams
• Advanced: Raga development, kritis, improvisation basics

For rhythm (Mridangam), I focus on:
• Basic strokes and hand techniques
• Understanding tala structure
• Simple korvais and patterns
• تدريجي progression into intermediate lessons

I ensure that each student builds strong fundamentals in shruti (pitch) and laya (rhythm), which are the backbone of Carnatic music.

Recommended practice materials:
• Custom notes provided after each class
• Audio recordings for revision
• Basic Carnatic lesson structure (varisai, geetham, varnams)
• Tala practice exercises

I also guide students on how to practice effectively at home, which is especially important for online learning.

No prior knowledge is required for beginners. I welcome students of all ages and backgrounds from around the world.
