About

Alden Spence is a gigging musician, session instrumentalist, arranger, and music director. Primarily a guitarist, he also writes for and plays bass and piano. As a guitarist, he has created music in a multitude of styles ranging from folk, country, R&B, pop, to rock and metal. He has worked in the studio with Berklee artists Justin Meyer, Lily Gelman, Ankitha Gopakakrishnan, Peter Cerdan, Lily Kelso, Naman Luthra, Kaylub, Natalia Albertini, Grable Howie, Aaron Oliver, Eros Canetti, Jay Alan, Robin Tucker, and Marley Striem.

My teaching style revolves around the students's musical goals. I believe every person has an inherent musical voice. It is my job to help you share this voice with the world. In some instances, this will involve learning music theory, reading, and technique on the instrument. However, if your goal is to mainly focus on playing your favorite songs, I would be more than happy to work on that! Every student will have a different musical path and I think that is great becuase we all have something unique to offer the world musically.

I graduated from Berklee College of Music with a degree in Guitar Performance and Music Production. Prior to college, I music directed for my school's drama department and I was a bandleader for the music program. Currently, I am teaching music lessons, doing guitar session work, and developing my own curriculum for guitar education.
