Hi, I’m Alejandro, I’m a 31 year old musician and music instructor. I enjoy playing Rock, Blues, Funk, Soul and Pop with Guitar and Bass. I've spent many years working on cruise ships as a sideman and also leading my own band, so I have plenty experience playing different styles of music with different groups. I've always enjoyed teaching, helping another person learn this new language, Music, can be very rewarding, there's always something new to learn! Maybe a new technique, a new style, a new instrument! The music world is quite big and it's an amazing journey to start discovering it.
I've been teaching since I was 18, even while I was studying music in the conservatory and playing with different bands I always taught in between. After I graduated I started working on cruise ships leading my own band. There I had the opportunity to play with musicians and performers from all over the world, in 2017 I started working as a guitar and bass player for Burn the Floor, a Broadway Musical. After every cruise contract I would teach, and my students always knew they could text me with doubts even while I was away.
I currently teach online in my home studio in Argentina, where I also record and practice for my projects and as a session musician.
I graduated from the ISMP (Superior Institute of Popular Music) of Buenos Aires, where I specialized in Rock and Blues. A couple of months after finishing my studies I was called to join a band on a Celebrity cruise ship. After that experience I became the leader of my own band and worked for Celebrity Cruises, Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL). After my band split up I was called to join Burn the Floor, a Broadway Musical on an NCL cruise ship where I performed as a lead electric guitarist and also as a bassist and nylon-string guitar player. I like to use the music that you love as an inspiration, so you really feel like practicing. This way you learn scales, chords and technique, and apply those to the music that you like.
I would recommend 'How to improvise' by Hal Crook and some volumes of Jamey Aebersold to improve improvisation skills.
