About
In the past couple of years I have been teaching both in the US and Brazil. I was a teaching assistant at Northern Illinois University for two years and also taught at a Chicago based project called Ravinia. In Brazil I'm currently teaching ant private music schools and I also have my own private studio.
I have experience in many different genres such as classical, popular and world music. I usually use this experience in my lessons to show different perspectives and different ways to apply the techniques we are studying.
Teaching Style
I usually like to adapt my approach according to the student's needs. For every lesson I write down the most important exercises (either using traditional music notation or another type of representation that might aid the student) and combine each example during the lesson so the student can learn how to practice. I also like to ask weekly assignments so I can hear the student playing (with a song on the background or by himself). That helps the student get the most out of each lesson and also help me plan the next steps.
