Hi there!
My name is Alex and I'm a singer/songwriter and I've been doing music ever since I can remember.
I sing, write, play guitar, piano and violin and I love making music and inspiring others to do the same. My strongest instrument is my voice and over the years I've learnt so much on how to craft it and yet I'm still improving each day and always.
I can help to teach students about breathing, tone, crafting of sound, pitch and so much more. I have various singing warmups, tools and exercises to help improve all areas of voice in different styles and I love helping others! I can also help students when it comes to writing songs, I've been writing music for 11 years now and I'd love to pass some knowledge and useful tips on as well. I can help them know where to start, how to get in touch with their emotions and channel them into songwriting, how to make tunes and beats that stick, what pitches and tones to use, how to create dynamics and melodies and craft that all into a song.
Teaching Style
I've taken singing lessons for years now as well as taught myself, taking part in all the choirs and singing events over the years during school. I've also sung in front of crowds and done busking as well around Auckland.
I'm also in the works of releasing an album entirely my own that's been recorded in a top end studio in a few months. Also coming up next year I'm most likely playing in a big music festival over the course of three days as well, working with other artists and singing on similar stages.
Curriculum
For singing lessons they would include warmups and vocal exercises, finding the right songs to match pitch, learning skills to extend their voice, crafting of sound, learning about runs and keys, scales, dynamics and range, rhythm and melodies.
The songwriting lessons would include similar exercises like crafting of sound, dynamics, range, rhythm and melodies as well as craftsmanship of words, how to tune a phrase, how to extend and channel emotion into music and how to create sections that make for an exciting and dynamic song that isn't flat or one dimentional.
