Alexander Parke
About
Hi! My name is Alexander Parke. I am a professional clarinetist, ethnomusicologist, and educator working between São Paulo and New York City.
I teach clarinet, saxophone, flute, klezmer music, classical music, Brazilian music, Turkish and Greek musical traditions, improvisation, and other world music styles for students of all levels.
My lessons combine technique, listening, repertoire, musical language, and artistic expression in a practical and personalized way.
Lessons available in English and Portuguese.
Teaching Style
My teaching method is simple and practical, based on three main principles: performance, technique, and repertoire.
Each lesson is tailored to the individual student according to their level, goals, musical interests, and personal learning process.
Technique is always connected to musical practice, helping students develop sound, articulation, control, and confidence on the instrument. Repertoire is chosen according to the student’s interests and can include klezmer, classical, Brazilian music, Turkish and Greek traditions, jazz, improvisation, and other world music styles.
Performance is also an important part of the process, helping students develop musical expression, interpretation, listening skills, and a stronger connection with the music they are playing.
The goal is to create a balanced and personalized musical development that is both structured and enjoyable.
