About

I am a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music (BM, MM) with over two decades of experience teaching cello, beginning piano, and music theory. Member of the American String Teachers Association. Ages 4+ and beginners welcome! I specialize in teaching adults of all levels. My young students have appeared at Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall, and NJPAC, and have continued on to study cello at the collegiate level. My music theory students have received top marks in the Royal Conservatory of Music Levels 8-10 examinations and the AP music theory exam.

I am equally comfortable starting students as absolute beginners, or helping students reach the next level towards whatever their musical goals may be. I have experience with neurodivergent students. I have started many students on cello virtually since the COVID-19 pandemic, and although daunting, learning an instrument from scratch or progressing to the next level is possible online.

For beginning students: Suzuki Cello Method, Volumes 1-4, Klengel Scales & Arpeggios, 170 Foundation Studies by Alwin Schroeder
For more advanced students: Bach Unaccompanied Suites, Sonatas & Concerti from the solo repertoire
