About
Hi, I've been teaching all histories for 5 years, my main job is U.S. History but my favorite is World History. I also teach Civics and World Geography.
I currently teach U.S. History at Richwood High School in Monroe, Louisiana. I previously taught World Geography, World History, Civics, and U.S. History at Union Parish High School in Farmerville, Louisiana.
For fun I like to garden with my husband and spend lots of time outside. I also enjoy creative writing and reading historical fiction and fantasy/ adventure.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is pretty straight forward. I like to supplement my teaching with great YouTube videos and khan Academy activities. When I teach I like to tell history like a story. I try to keep it interesting and relevant by relating the lesson to the present, movies, songs, pop culture, etc.
Curriculum
I expect my students to demonstrate responsibility in their studies and to critically think about things before asking. My method for questions is to help the student reach the answer instead of just telling the student. This helps to promote critical thinking and problem solving as well as, making connections.

Graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe with my Bachelors degree in secondary education, social studies grades 6-12.
