About
Hi! I'm Amina, a classical voice student with a love for musical theatre, and exploring other music genres such as Arabic, Jazz and soulful pop styles. I have experience in live performance, high school and community music theatre involvement and musical training. I'm currently studying Classical Voice at the University of Melbourne and have been involved in ensembles, solo performance and creative collaborations. I love sharing the joy of music with others and creating a safe, uplifting space for students to explore their voices. Whether you're just figuring out your voice or wanting to build confidence, I'm here to support you :)
Teaching Style
My teaching style is patient, encouraging and personalised. I believe learning to sing should be fun, expressive and empowering, especially for beginners and younger students. I help students grow in confidence and skill and giving them the chance to fall in love with music and singing as much as I have. Lessons will be tailored to understanding and working with each students interests and goals, and building on that to further develop their voices!
Curriculum
Lessons typically include warm-ups, breathing exercises, vocal technique, and learning songs students enjoy. I often use backing tracks instead of piano, helping students develop strong listening and pitch awareness. I also have a keyboard at home which I use during lessons to support with vocal exercises/warm-ups, scales, and pitch work. My goal is to help each student find their own unique voice while learning healthy technique and musical confidence.
Credentials & Affiliations
- Currently studying Classical Voice at the University of Melbourne.
- Experience performing in solo and group vocal settings, including ensembles, high school and community music theatre productions and solo performances.
