Amy Manny
About
Hello,
My name is Amy and I have been a trained singer for 13 years. I am currently majoring in Music Education at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and specialize in Jazz vocals. I am also open to teaching other genres of music such as pop, country, indie..etc. I grew up on stage so I have a lot of performance experience and tips on how to not only develop strong vocals but a great stage presence.
Teaching Style
I think it is important as a teacher to ensure that the student is enjoying the piece they are working on. It's also important to give them pieces that challenge certain areas that they need to work on. I will start of each lesson with a quick vocal warm up, help choose a song (during the first lesson), and guide them through the piece. The students will work on the song prior to each lesson. Each student will work on getting a solid list of repertoire. Each lesson the student with sing their The technique's taught should be carried over to future and even past pieces the student has worked on. For me teaching is more than just learning how to sing one song at its best but to learn life lasting techniques and performance skills.
