My teaching style varies as I learn the student's learning style and what resonates with them. I always treat my students with respect and kindness, and do my absolute best to create an environment for students to thrive in.
My lessons with beginner students focus heavily on building solid technique and building understanding of the fundamentals of music, such as reading/writing music, basic drum beats, rudiments, fills, and playing along to music! Intermediate and advanced students build off of those fundamentals and strengthen their understanding of these concepts by learning to incorporate rudiments on the drum set, dynamics, musical phrasing, etc.

Allowing students to control their musical education is something I firmly believe in. I encourage students following the path that they want to follow, whether it be jazz drumming, rock/metal drumming, or even classical styles. While I allow students to set their own path, I encourage them to step outside of that realm and learn concepts from other styles that will compliment their existing goals. I also offer practical solutions and exercises to certain concepts that students may be struggling with, and encourage them to utilize these exercises in their daily practice.
