My specialty is teaching elementary band. With experience in teaching and starting beginners, I'm cued into the musical interests and attributes of my students. As an arranger/transcriptionist, I have a complete library of my own play-alongs, solos and band arrangements to aid in differentiated teaching. This library is intended to supplement any instrumental methods I currently use. Exposure to all kinds of music is important. I teach students the basics through scales, guided listening, improvisation, duets, singing, movement and dance. My goal is to make the online environment a fun place for exploration and learning where students can stay motivated while developing their music skills. I've discovered some excellent web based learning programs that provide play-along access, and online music studio access for composition and recording.
