About
My name is ANGELA RANSLEY and I live in London where I teach the piano face to face and also online. I have an Honours Degree in Music and a Fellowship in Piano Teaching with Distinction. I founded my own studio - The Harmony School of Pianoforte - in 1994. I have a wide knowledge of repertoire and its historical context, a highly developed sense of style, over 20 years of preparing students for performance and music exams and a sound understanding of piano technique.
I now offer Advanced Tuition from Grade 6 upwards including all diploma levels.Whatver your age or stage, I can help you realise your dream to be the best you can be!
Since founding the Harmony School in London, I have taught children and adults where I devise an approach that works best for the individual. Some past pupils are now professional musicians, and a number of scholarships have been awarded along the way. We operate as a community, learning together with pupils occasionally sharing lessons, and performing to each other on a regular basis. I also take groups to concerts and museums to give an all round musical education.

I teach from the Classical repertoire, careful to use reliable urtext editions. Creative support such as improvisation and composition is also important as is a well-developed sight reading ability. Duet playing features strongly in my teaching as it develops many musical skills at once!
