About

Professional Heritage & Expertise

I am a professional violinist with a lifelong dedication to the craft, rooted in the prestigious Senia Gharana lineage. I began my journey at the age of 5 under my grandfather, Pt. Guru Prasad Sharma(Music Composer, All India Radio), a direct disciple of Pt. Joi Srivastava of prestigious Senia Gharana  .

I hold a Master of Performing Arts (Music) from the University of Allahabad, where I was awarded the 'O' Grade for my performance and academic excellence.

My training is a unique blend of East and West: I am a Sangeet Praveen (Gold Medalist) and also hold a Higher Distinction in ABRSM Violin Performance Grade.

My Teaching Philosophy

I believe in building a "Solid Technical Foundation" so that music becomes effortless. I incorporate the Schradieck method and Suzuki School techniques to help students develop superior finger dexterity, intonation, and posture.

Whether you are:

  • A beginner starting your first notes,

  • A student preparing for ABRSM/Trinity exams,

  • Or an enthusiast wanting to learn Indian regional melodies (Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada), I tailor every lesson and provide customized digital notations to match your comfort level.

A Premium Online Experience

I have eliminated the common frustrations of online learning. I teach from a professionally equipped studio featuring:

  • M1 MacBook Pro Audio/Video Processing: For crystal-clear, high-fidelity violin tone, and high definition video graphics

  • 200 mbps High-Speed Fiber Optic Connection: Ensuring zero-lag, real-time feedback.

  • Global Community: I am the founder of the "Taal and Tunes" YouTube channel, where I share my love for the violin with over 1.2k+ subscribers.

I am passionate about helping my students find their own voice on the violin. I look forward to meeting you in our first Free session!

Teaching Style

A Personalized Path to Mastery

My teaching style is a unique blend of disciplined technique and creative expression. I believe that every student learns differently, which is why I do not use a "one-size-fits-all" curriculum.

Whether you are 7 or 70, I adapt my pace to your goals.

Technical Precision (The "How")

I focus heavily on building a correct foundation from day one. To help you develop "pro-level" finger dexterity and perfect intonation, I utilize:

  • The Schradieck Method: For superior left-hand strength.

  • The Suzuki Philosophy: For natural ear development and beautiful tone.

  • ABRSM Standards: To ensure global academic excellence.

Cultural Soul (The "Heart")

Coming from the Senia Gharana lineage, I teach students how to make the violin "sing." I specialize in the Dhrupad Ang (vocal style), which brings a soulful, human quality to the instrument. If you are interested in Indian regional music, I provide bespoke digital notations for Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, songs simplified or detailed based on your progress.

Curriculum

I utilize a hybrid pedagogical approach that combines the technical discipline of Western Classical violin with the soulful, improvisational nature of the Senia Gharana (Hindustani) tradition.

For Western Classical students: I focus on the Suzuki Method for ear training and repertoire, supplemented by the Schradieck School of Violin Technic to build superior finger dexterity and intonation. I prepare students for ABRSM and Trinity exams using a structured, grade-based curriculum.

For Hindustani Classical students: I teach the Dhrupad & Gayaki Ang (vocal style), focusing on Meend (glides) and Gamak (oscillations) to make the violin sing. I prioritize a strong foundation in Swaras and Alankars before moving into Raga-based compositions.

For Regional Repertoire: I provide customized digital notations for Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada songs, which I simplify or detail according to the student's technical comfort level.
