To me, teaching is a collective and collaborative process - a team effort of mutual learning, rather than a one way sharing of facts. I believe this encourages productivity, creativity, and efficiency.

As a teacher and tutor, I aim to promote academic, functional, and personal growth - equipping students to be their best as individuals, as members of their classroom communities, and as members of the greater world.  I believe in using my time with students to inspire a love of learning as much as mastery of particular skills. My style is methodical, inquiry-based, active, and highly catered towards the needs and goals of the individuals I have the pleasure of working with. My students are encouraged to think critically, assessing what they perceive to be limitations so that they may achieve individual and collective goals; this implies exploring foreign ideas and challenging doubts.

Every student has unique learning styles, strengths, and areas of struggle, so I am constantly gathering data, analyzing performance, and implementing research-based teaching practices. I find it crucial to take time to understand each student's goals, interests, motivators, and supports so that I may maximize productivity and enjoyment for students.

Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have developed a passion for promoting positive growth in learning communities. In my career, I have focused on improving quality of education and, consequently, quality of life for all my students.

I believe in inquiry based learning, peaking curiosity and facilitating self-motivated problem solving. Students are encouraged to think critically and constructively - often creating relationships between academic material and their own lives.

I exercise a calculated and methodical approach to teaching that embraces - scaffolding, generalizing, and making real-world connections. My students and I explore complex ideas by building a solid foundation of knowledge and appropriately building upon that knowledge. This allows students to relate complex ideas to their roots, draw connections between material with shared fundamentals, and approach new ideas with less stress.
