About
Hello! My name is Asal Vaseghnia, and I am a dedicated musician and music educator with a strong background in ethnomusicology, composition, and performance. With years of experience both as a performer and a researcher, I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and helping students develop their musical skills.
I specialize in qanun performance, music theory, ear training, and composition, and I offer lessons tailored to students of all levels—whether you're just starting out or looking to refine your technique. My teaching approach combines a deep understanding of traditional and contemporary music with a personalized method to help you achieve your musical goals.
If you're interested in learning qanun, music theory, improvisation, harmonization, or exploring world music traditions, I'd love to guide you on your musical journey!
Teaching Style
My teaching approach is personalized, interactive, and student-centered. I believe that every student has a unique way of learning, so I tailor my lessons to suit their individual goals, interests, and skill levels.
I focus on:
🎵 Building a strong foundation – Whether in qanun performance, music theory, or composition, I ensure that students develop solid technical and theoretical skills.
🎵 Creative exploration – I encourage students to experiment with improvisation, harmonization, and different musical styles to develop their own artistic voice.
🎵 Practical application – Lessons go beyond theory, incorporating real-world musical examples, exercises, and active playing to reinforce concepts.
🎵 A supportive and inspiring environment – Learning music should be enjoyable and rewarding! I create a space where students feel comfortable expressing themselves and growing at their own pace.
My goal is to help students not just play music, but truly understand and connect with it. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced musician, I will guide you in refining your technique, deepening your musical knowledge, and expressing yourself confidently.
