About

I'm a classically trained flutist and piccolo player based in New York, currently serving as a member of the West Point Band. My performing career spans nationally-televised broadcasts, festival appearances including the 2025 New York Flute Club's Flute Fair, and touring with the American Wind Symphony Orchestra. I received first prize in the 2021 Walfrid Kujala International Piccolo Competition and hold dual bachelor's degrees in Flute Performance and Music Education from the University of North Texas, where I studied with Mary Karen Clardy and was named the 2010–11 Presser Scholar. My additional mentors include Bart Feller, Mindy Kaufman, Keith Underwood, and Tanya Witek.

Teaching Style

I believe great flute playing begins with the whole person — not just the instrument. My lessons are rooted in classical technique and musicianship, while weaving in mindfulness and creativity to help students develop their own authentic voice. Whether you're working toward an audition, building a strong foundation, or exploring chamber music for the first time, I will tailor each lesson to where you are and where you want to go.

I draw on my experience as both a performer and a Music Education graduate to make lessons structured yet flexible. My goal is to help students internalize good habits in tone production, breathing, and musical expression so that progress feels natural and lasting. I also love working on chamber music, helping students discover how to listen deeply and collaborate with other players.

I welcome students of all levels — from beginners picking up the flute for the first time to advanced players preparing for competitions or professional auditions. I'm equally comfortable teaching piccolo as a standalone focus, which is rare and valuable for students looking to strengthen that specialty. Lessons are available for all ages.
