Ashley Young
About
Ashley Young is a classically trained pianist and experienced music educator with over a decade of teaching and performance experience. She began piano at age 6 and later expanded into jazz, blues, and gospel, performing professionally throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Ashley holds a BA in Music from Whittier College, where she directed the college jazz ensemble under Grammy-winning musician Danilo Lozano. She has taught in schools, academies, music camps, and private studios across the West Coast.
Her teaching style focuses on building strong fundamentals while keeping lessons engaging and personalized for each student. She works with both children and adults, helping students grow in confidence, technique, and musical expression.

Teaching Style
Ashley uses a flexible, student-centered approach that blends classical fundamentals with contemporary styles like jazz, blues, and pop. She teaches both children and adults, tailoring each lesson to the student’s age, goals, and learning style—whether that’s reading music, playing by ear, or learning favorite songs.

BA in Music at Whittier College in CA where she directed the Whittier College Jazz Ensemble for 4 years under the instruction of Music Professor and Grammy award winning jazz flautist, Danilo Lozano.
Instructor for several academies, schools, music camps and workshops along the West Coast, including the Port Townsend Centrum Workshops.
Instructor and founder of Harmony Tree Piano Lessons.
Predecessor of Cincinnati's boogie woogie pianist, Big Joe Duskin.
