About

Based in New York City, Belinda Rosen has garnered an international presence playing the oboe and English horn to a wide range of audiences throughout the United States, South America, and Europe. She has engaged audiences as an orchestral and chamber musician and has developed a strong musical profile with her diverse range of recorded music.

Belinda has enjoyed her experiences playing both the oboe and English horn in orchestras that have toured across the Americas and Europe.  She made her European tour debut at the Edinburgh festival when Maestro Carlos Miguel Prieto conducted the Orchestra of the Americas in an August 2018 broadcast performance of Aaron Copland’s Symphony No. 3, Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1, and Carlos Chavez’ Sinfonia India.

While in a residency with the 2017 Orchestra of the Americas in Frutillar, Chile, Belinda recorded a CD with Grammy nominated Venezuelan pianist Gabriela Montero. Released in September 2019 with Orchid Classics, the CD features Belinda as English horn soloist in Ravel’s Piano Concerto and Montero’s very own Latin Concerto. Other recordings include works by Copland and Chavez on Pan-American Reflections with Linn Records.  Belinda recorded Ingolf Dahl’s Concerto for Alto Saxophone with Timothy McAllister, and the University of Michigan Symphony Band, and an album of songs by Czech composer Vítězslava Kaprálova with the University of Michigan Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Kenneth Kiesler.

A recent graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Belinda is an avid freelancer, and has performed with the San Francisco Symphony, Houston Symphony, Oakland Symphony, Monterey Symphony, California Symphony, Santa Rosa Symphony, Santa Cruz Symphony,  Sacramento Philharmonic, and Modesto Symphony.  Belinda earned her masters degree from Rice University's Shepherd School of Music in 2020 and earned her Bachelors’ degree in Oboe Performance at the University of Michigan and graduated with top academic honors in 2016.

Belinda is on faculty of the Eisman Center for the Preparatory Studies in Music at Queens College as well as both oboe teacher and chamber music coach at the 92nd Street Y. She also holds a private studio as well.

Belinda's major teachers include Eugene Izotov, Robert Atherholt, Pedro Diaz, and Nancy Ambrose King.  Born and raised in Belle Harbor, NY, Belinda is also a graduate of the premier LaGuardia High School for Music & Art and the Performing Arts.

I have much experience working with students of all ages.
