I have been teaching lessons full time for a living since 1987. Over that time span, I have learned so so much in my lessons. My basic vibe is, I am learning new things constantly, for example, I learned Paul Gilbert's Fuzz Universe and taught it to one of my students. No easy task for any player! I spent 12 years as a serious Spanish Classical player. The students influence me to study various styles of guitar music! There was a long period of Neoclassical rock/metal and thrash metal. We studied VanHalen for decades. We learned John Coltrane's Giant Steps solo, Swing, Bebop and Bossa. We have studies Jimi Hendrix and later SRV and Gary Moore. I have had the pleasure of teaching Corey Beaulieu from the Warner signed band Trivium. Johnny Hiland (Nashville Hellcaster) studied Rock and Later Jazz and Funk. Lots of folks were into punk rock and emo for a while too! I have some very famous past students that is cool. But what is cooler is seeing a new player pick up this instrument and watching them become a musician! That where it's at for me.! Like my website says.. "Welcome to our music journey."
What do my online lessons offer you as a student? Every style, every level! Beginners are always welcome. My approach to your playing is based on how you learn. That means I can adapt to what you need and want in this journey. I like to help the beginners with playing songs and assist you with the eons of online materials that can be overwhelming! Intermediate players: we take care of the business by working on technique, improvisation, scale mastery, chord construction/understanding, theory, and ear training. Advanced players, we work on whatever you need help on. RSI issues, chops, versatility, shred subjects such as, sweeping, efficiency picking, alt picking. Metal, Rock, Blues, Jazz, Classical, Country, Singer-Songwriter, and Composition. SIGHT READING!!! Covid19 can not stop our music journey!
