About

Hello, I am Brad Snyder. I am currently a Doctoral Candidate in Trombone Performance at Florida State University where I serve as one of the Trombone Studio Graduate Teaching Assistants. At FSU I am fortunate to teach undergraduate music education, performance, and commercial music majors, as well as co-conduct the Florida State Trombone Choir. Outside of FSU, I am the bass trombonist with the Ocala Symphony Orchestra, as well as tenor trombonist with Big Bend Brass. Additionally I have been fortunate to perform with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, the Houston Symphony Orchestra, the Houston Grand Opera, Sinfonia Gulf Coast, the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra and the Northwest Florida Ballet.

As a teacher I strongly believe in a student-first approach to teaching. My goal is to have every student feel that they have improved after every lesson. To do that, I believe in a personalized individual instruction experience that focuses on improving the areas of weakness, while building upon the student's strengths. Everything that we do on the trombone serves the music. My goal as a teacher is to help you become the best musician, and trombone player, that you can be.

Bachelor of Music in Trombone Performance- Pennsylvania State University
Master of Music in Trombone Performance- Rice University's Shepherd School of Music
Doctor of Music in Brass Performance- Florida State University (ABD)

Following the individual assessment of each student, methods will be assigned based on the student's needs. However, I am a huge proponent of the Mike Davis Warm-up book series as well as any method book written by Brad Edwards.
