About
I became a fingerstyle guitarist thirty plus years ago because I had the pleasure of learning guitar personally from the late great Lenny Breau. I haven't looked back since. I grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada but I always had the inclination to travel. I have worked as a music teacher in international schools around the globe in places such as China, Taiwan, Singapore, Kuwait and currently, Cairo, Egypt. I am also listed with the Registry of Guitar Tutors (RGT) out of England. I am a performer but teaching music is my passion. I have always had a number of guitar students ie beginning, intermediate, and advanced wherever I have lived. I now want to reach out to the world. I believe my international experience has greatly increased my musicality and I want to pass some of it on to you.

Teaching Style
Being an educator, I want my students to have some understanding as to how the guitar works. It's easy to learn a few licks, chords and songs. The question is, how does it all work? Once you know this , you can develop your own style of guitar playing. So my approach is to teach this concept through fingerstyle guitar; make the guitar sound like a little piano.
Of course I meet the student where she or he is at. If they want to go off in a certain direction, I'm happy to help them. My goal is to help them to be open to new ideas, songs, styles, genres, etc., as well. It's all a step-by-step process. If you have half an hour to practice every day or two hours, it doesn't matter. If you have good guidance, you can learn a lot in a short period of time.
I'm also interested in helping singers use the guitar to enhance their singing performances. It's one thing to strum a guitar and sing; but to be able to enhance your singing voice with fingerstyle guitar is a whole new level. I can help singers do this and it opens up a whole world new world to them.
The guitar is like a little orchestra. Come join the orchestra.
Musically yours, Bruce
