I am a music teacher, with more than 10 years of experience teaching music theory, vocals, classical and popular piano to all age groups. I have a Bachelor degree in Choir conducting, singing, teaching music and musicology from the University of Arts of Havana, Cuba.
I have been involved in music since I was 7 years old, and I have worked in professional music schools, universities and music institutes in Cuba, Venezuela and United Arab Emirates. I have experience teaching one on one, and group classes, in person and also online.
I taught piano, singing, and music theory at Melodica, one of the most well-known and prestigious music institutes in the United Arab Emirates, from 2021 until 2022. During this time, I instructed over 100 students from various age groups, musical levels, and backgrounds. More than a dozen of my students were prepared by me to take music exams with ABRSM and Trinity UK's music boards, achieving results of Merit and Distinction.
As a music teacher at the University of Matanzas in Cuba, I conducted auditions to organize the choir and a female vocal ensemble. I also prepared them to perform at the school's events and festivals, leading to our ensemble winning first place in the national festival of amateur artists in 2011.
In addition, as a music teacher at a professional music school in Cuba, my students excelled in their exams to enter the music conservatory and the University of Arts in Cuba.
I participated in the National Event of Symphonic Orchestras of Cuba in 2011 and 2013, serving as a musicologist for the Matanzas Symphonic Orchestra.
As a singer in the Matanzas Chamber Choir, I participated annually in the national festival of choirs from 2009 to 2015. Our performances took place in various theaters, including the National Theater of Cuba and the Teresa Carreño Theater in Venezuela. Furthermore, I had the opportunity to perform with choirs from Yale University.
I have performed with musicians from various countries from the Middle East, America and Europe and in multiple scenarios as well.
My students have always performed well in international music exams such as Trinity, ABRSM and MTB, and also academically.
As a music teacher I will always do everything that is in my power so that my students succeed.
I have a bachelor degree in Musicology and also in Singing, Choir conducting. I have taught music for more than 10 years, from beginner up to advanced levels both piano and vocals. Through out my career I have created musical ensembles, choirs, and bands with my students, I have been member of music exams boards in different schools, events and festivals. Have participated in choir and symphonic orchestra festivals, talent shows and multiple musical events as a performer and accompanying my students as well.
All my experiences in music have always been positive. I am passionate about teaching vocals and piano. My biggest reward is my students development.
I can create a method based on my students interests and needs. My teaching philosophy revolves around the believe that everyone can enjoy the benefits of music, the key to success is a good technique, practice and consistency. I recommend ABRSM and Trinity piano and singing syllabus, as well as the classical piano and singing technique books and exercises that will allow my students to achieve their goals as musicians. Warm-up, breathing exercises, improvisation, aural skills will be improved with my vocal teaching method, and sight-reading, accuracy, playing in style are some of the skills that will be developed with my piano teaching method. My method is flexible and can be adapted to my students goals.
