Charles Portney

I have over 10 years of experience teaching ESL to all ages from pre-K to college. I was an Adjunct Professor on campus for 6 years at the University of South Carolina’s English Programs for Internationals. I taught full-time ESL instruction to international students preparing to enter American universities. Three classes: Advanced Grammar & Writing; Advanced Reading & Vocabulary; Advanced Speaking & Listening. In addition to teaching, I was the department’s Audio/Visual coordinator.

I also spent two summers as Academic Director for Juilliard’s intensive English as a Second Language program in New York City, and taught ESL in Bangkok, Thailand.
