My background and formal education is in classical music, and I play contemporary styles like Pop, R&B, Gospel and Jazz. I have more than 25 years experience as a private piano teacher, performer and composer. I enjoy teaching students on all levels from beginners to advanced, age 12 to seniors. Many of my students are singers and music creators who want to learn the piano to accompany themselves, or for songwriting/production. I encourage students to use good technique, learn to read music, chord-scale theory and to play by ear.
Since 2012, I have been teaching privately full-time. Prior to moving to Los Angeles, I lived in Berlin, Germany, where I performed and toured with various bands, and served as a church musician. I am a songwriter and composer who enjoys music of different genres. My teaching style is very patient, encouraging and easy-going, with an emphasis on consistent practice.

For beginners, I use the Faber Piano Adventures course, which is good for introducing students to note-reading, technique, theory and easy songs to play with both hands right away. Intermediate/advanced students focus on pieces and songs of their choice, improvisation and knowledge of chord-scale theory (numbers system).
I have also created a course called the Cosmic Piano Practice. It is a way to connect with your inner music while mastering the fundamentals of piano playing. Every keyboard exercise is centered on a positive affirmation to connect the hands, heart and soul. Players of all styles and levels can use the Cosmic Piano Practice to increase mindfulness and eliminate negative “self-talk”. With the Cosmic Piano Practice, you will increase your piano skills while raising your vibration.
