My approach to teaching is initially non - stylistic. I focus on the underlying fundamentals of drum set playing that apply to all styles i.e. basic snare drum technique, independence between the limbs, developing a deep sense of groove and time as well as melodic soloing concepts.
For people just starting out I believe in being a supportive teacher/coach that will give them the skills they need to develop their own "voice" and follow their musical path whatever that may be.
For more advanced students, to be able to expand on their knowledge and to help take it the next level.
I have developed my own body of exercises and materials which I will pass on to students as well as individualized material for each student.
